myPOS Partners with JustTip to Streamline Tipping in the Hospitality Sector

announcements / 27.08.2025

myPOS is excited to announce a new partnership with JustTip – a cashless tipping and service charge management platform that simplifies Irish compliance, automates tip distribution, and eliminates the associated payroll costs to businesses. This collaboration delivers a powerful solution for the hospitality industry looking to streamline operations and reduce costs at a time when margins are under pressure.

Through the myPOS  and JustTip integration, customers can easily pay both the bill and a tip on a myPOS card machine. The payment is routed to the merchant’s account, and tips are automatically separated and processed in line with regulations through the JustTip platform. Businesses benefit from real-time reporting, reduced admin, and access to written tip distribution policies provided by JustTip to support legal compliance in Ireland.

Founded in 2021 by entrepreneurs James Fahy and Ciara Walsh, JustTip was created in response to mounting frustration with outdated and inconsistent tipping practices for employers but also a lack of transparency for customers and staff. Their mission: to modernise how tips are handled with cashless transactions, while helping employers stay fully compliant with national legislation.

“The business was started to solve an issue I noticed becoming more common during COVID,” explained James Fahy. “With the shift toward contactless payments, we needed a way for customers to continue tipping without relying on cash. JustTip provides a seamless, digital solution that allows staff to receive tips as quickly and effortlessly as cash – but with the full backing of proper documentation and compliance.”

The myPOS integration helps businesses reduce costs, eliminating the 11.15% PRSI charge on tips. Furthermore, the partnership ensures businesses remain compliant with legislation in the UK and Ireland’s amended Payment of Wages (Tips and Gratuities) Act 2022, which requires a full, transparent breakdown and fair distribution of all tips and transaction reports. Beyond modernised tipping, reduced costs, and streamlined operations, this benefit turns the solution into a compliance tool and a tax management platform as well.

Already used by more than 650 companies across Ireland and the UK, JustTip is planning to bring its combination of cashless tipping and tax-efficient automation to new markets.

“We’re excited to work with myPOS and help hospitality businesses stay competitive,” James Fahy added. “With rising business costs in Ireland, cost-efficient solutions are more important than ever. Through this partnership, business owners get a single, powerful solution: fast card payments, full compliance, reduced admin, and the removal of the associated payroll costs on tips all in one.”
