myPOS’ meets local businesses at HoReCa 2020 Greece
Product News / 17.02.2020
Over the span of four days from 7 to 10 February 2020, the world-class HoReCa 2020 trade show took place in Athens, Greece proving that it is one of the most successful and leading commercial forums for the hotel and food service sector. Catering to hospitality, restaurants, cafes and bars professionals, this unique and valuable exhibition attracted thousands of visitors from these industries and myPOS is proud to have been an exhibitor there together with our partner, Equinox Ventures.
Behind the scenes of payments in Greece
Due to a 4-years-long capital control on the Greek market, the industry faced many challenges when it came to receiving payments via POS terminals offered by pan European payments providers like myPOS. However, with the changes in regulations and legislation, businesses and in the HoReCa industry can now seamlessly accept payments through their myPOS terminals.

myPOS’ presence at the event
Together with our business partner, Equinox Ventures, the myPOS team met up hundreds of visitors interested in payment acceptance solutions for their hotel or restaurant businesses. Among the visitors were also existing myPOS clients, who were happy to see us there and revisit our services and solutions.
We were also very pleased to meet individuals interested in becoming myPOS partners through our Agent Program, which fosters mutual profits and strong business relationships when promoting the myPOS product. We are particularly grateful to two merchants who flew and drove over 550 km to visit us at the 15th edition of HoReCa 2020 in order to discuss the opportunities available through our Agent Program.
Distinguished guests
HoReCa 2020 would not be complete without a visit from some distinguished guests, and we were honoured to have had a visit from Mr. Johanes R. Krikorian, Counsellor – Head of Commercial and Economic Section from the embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Athens, as well as his team. Mr. Krikorian was informed about myPOS and he invited us to get in touch with him should we need any assistance when doing business in Greece. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to him and his team for his welcome invitation of doing business in Greece.
Also Mr. Yannis Koutsomitis (European affairs analyst, Managing Editor at kappanews.gr and Senior Media Advisor at Delphi Forum).
